The Great Gryphon

At first the glare of the sunlight off its golden feathers momentarily
blinds you. As your vision returns, you get a clear and astonishing view of
this legendary creature. Stretched out in an effortless glide, this great
beasts body is a dark golden color and shaped somewhat like a lions. It has
a long tail floating behind it, and two very powerful hind paws stretched
out for balance. Its torso apears to be that of a great eagle. Its
feathers are golden also, tinted with blues and reds in unique swirling
patterns. Its forelegs are actually giant talons, tucked up close to its
feathered breast. Its beak and head is that of a massive eagle. Large
feral eyes scan the ground below, and in spotting you, its eyes widen in
recognition of danger, and its beak opens to emit a high shrill warning
call. It banks on a pair of eagle-like wings also wildly colored, and keeps
its very intelligent gaze on you.
